RAF jets were scrambled on Wednesday after two Russian military aircraft were seen off the Cornwall coast, the Ministry of Defence has said. The Russian Bear bombers did not enter sovereign airspace, it said.
Tupolev Tu95 Bear aircraft streaked along fringes of UK airspace, prompting the deployment of two Typhoons.
Streaked, I like that, only it’s listed cruising speed is 750 -800 knots, 466-497 mph.
Country ‘could not cope’ if Russia attacked because our defences have been ‘decimated’, say military chiefs
David Cameron defiantly dismissed the incident, saying the Russians ‘are trying to make some sort of a point’
Britain cannot defend itself against Putin’s military might, top brass warn. Former RAF chief says that Britain’s defences have been ‘decimated’ and would not survive a Russian air attack
The RAF is too weak to cope with an all-out attack from Russia, former top-brass have warned. Ex-RAF chiefs have spoken out after fighters were scrambled when two Russian bear bombers were spotted off the coast of Cornwall.
Wow and to think all those defense cuts were necessary to preserve our nations safety in the future (which it blatantly hasn’t) and balance the military budget (which it didn’t).
As for keeping the Russian planes out?
The bears can carry up to 15,000 kg (33,000 lb) of payload which can include nuke tipped cruise missiles with a range of up to 2,500 km (1500 miles). Hell they can launch those from Mother Russia’s border and they would still reach us.
Oh yeah, here we go.
Now either the need for self preservation has dawned on the politicians (unlikely as most are too stupid) or the media have been ordered to ramp up the “The Red Menace” rhetoric as part of the governments brain washing of the sheeple in preparation for:-
The surprise and “purely for humanitarian reasons” NATO Spring offensive. You know, the one that hasn’t even been considered or planned for.
