My faith in Trump takes a knock again.
Strike one was from those cruise missiles.
Strike two is from his unstable (seemingly rabid) state department.
Then tonight I read this in Sky News:-
The Trump administration has warned Syria that the use of chemical weapons or barrel bombs could bring fresh US military action. “If you gas a baby or drop a barrel bomb onto innocent people, you will see a response from this president,” White House spokesman Sean Spicer said.
That’s Strike Three as far as I’m concerned.
Especially after Russia and Iran have issued a direct warning to Donald Trump saying his missile strike crossed a ‘red line’ and that further US action in Syria will lead to retaliation. Russian president Vladimir Putin and Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani said American military intervention against Bashar Assad was a “violation of international law” in telephone talks. An arm of Lebanese militant group Hezbollah issued a statement it claimed was on behalf of Russia, Iran and its allies, vowing to “reply with force” to any future US aggression “in a variety of ways”.
The scene has been set for someone, anyone, to run a false flag operation and Trump has nowhere to go EXCEPT to order a response.
His mouthy staff demonstrating their complete ignorance of the language of diplomacy.
If Trump doesn’t respond, he’ll be seen as impotent and no better than Obama.
If Trump does respond, the Russians, Iranians, Syrians (and friends) will also have no option but to retaliate in some form as failure to do so will also be seen as their red line bluff was called and they were found wanting.
What would be the odds of both sides or either of them pulling back?
When there is nowhere to go you can bet someone will die and that may escalate the situation to war between the super powers even if it’s NOT Russia that reacts.
How fk’g stupid is the current US administration.
They just wouldn’t wait for the official UN investigation. Why is that?
Probably because their Intel wouldn’t stand up to any form of scrutiny.
I wonder if we’ll have time to enjoy our little trip before instant sunshine ensues?
