Yesterday I tipped a glass to all who fell. We will not forget.
My comrades in arms who fell were the finest people I have ever met or shall meet. Like many alive today, for the longest time I had “survivor’s guilt” (why are they gone/why am I still here?). But a revelation came about a few years ago, that I hope will help many: Yes, our fallen comrades are the finest we knew…but they would have said the same of you, you still here raising your glass. Happy memorial day, Thin Red Line.
